May Shukla is a songwriter, luthier, and multi-instrumentalist based in Montréal. Her main instruments are banjo and slide guitar. She has a deep-seated love for old-time, folk, country, gospel, and jazz music. May is interested in searching for the timeless truth in old music. May’s most recent release, “Live at Boo! Cabaret” includes a live-recorded rendition of Leadbelly’s “Take This Hammer” featuring blues slide guitar.
